Senior Avionics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical architectures, design circuits, capture schematics, and lay out PCBAs
• Design custom electrical harnesses and oversee harness builds
• Make build vs. buy decisions to best satisfy design, schedule, and budget requirements
• Develop and support electrical ground equipment and test hardware, including HITL and FlatSat setups
• Drive root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of electronics-related issues in spacecraft and ground systems
• Interface directly with external vendors to ensure hardware quality and delivery
• Contribute to defining avionics team best practices including documentation and design reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or related field
• 8+ years of experience designing electrical hardware for high-reliability applications (aerospace, defense, or automotive)
• Experience with PCBs/PCBA and wiring & harnessing
• Working knowledge of aerospace materials in extreme thermal environments
• Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, electronic loads)
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to write software scripts in Python to automate hardware testing
• Experience with clean-sheet design in embedded systems, power distribution, or analog/mixed-signal circuits
• Experience designing electronics for radiation tolerance
• Experience integrating vehicle systems or debugging system-level electrical issues
