Senior Avionics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop complete avionics systems including architecture, design, integration, and verification
• Lead technical execution of hardware builds including PCB design, harnessing, and embedded systems
• Collaborate with propulsion, guidance, control, thermal, and software teams
• Design digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuit boards
• Qualify designs through environmental testing such as vibration, shock, and TVAC
• Manage component selection and delivery schedules with suppliers
• Contribute to flight software architecture design

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in satellite or spacecraft flight computer hardware design
• Proficiency in mixed-signal and digital circuit simulations
• Experience designing PCBAs using Altium Designer or similar software
• Hands-on experience with digital communications (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, PCIe, Ethernet, etc.)
• Background in fault-tolerant and failover-capable electronics design
• Understanding of space, launch, and reentry environments (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, radiation)
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-reliability or safety-critical systems in spacecraft or automotive sectors
• Knowledge of radiation-hardened or rad-tolerant system design
• Experience implementing advanced microprocessors, DRAM, and NAND flash
• Knowledge of spacecraft ADCS sensors and propulsion components
• Proficiency with C/C++, Python, Rust, VHDL, or Verilog
• Prior experience working in startups
