About the role
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop highly reliable, radiation-tolerant electronics for satellite operations
- Lead the design of critical sub-systems including power distribution, sensor aggregation, and flight computer systems
- Drive the full electronics design lifecycle from concept and requirements gathering through schematic capture, layout, simulation, and verification
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, thermal, software, RF, and manufacturing) to solve complex engineering challenges
- Work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet strict quality and reliability standards
- Develop and maintain project schedules and assist in recruiting and hiring new team members
Requirements
- B.S. or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a similar technical degree
- 5+ years of professional experience in fast-paced product design cycles
- 5+ years of experience in board-level hardware design from concept through production
- Strong analog and mixed-signal circuit design skills
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test hardware from scratch
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status (required for export control compliance)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing signal conditioning, sensors, electro-mechanical actuators, or power switches
- Proficiency with FPGAs, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (RS-485, SPI, Ethernet, I2C)
- Knowledge of radiation effects and environmental testing
- Strong understanding of C, C++, or Python
- Experience leading engineering teams or working across multiple disciplines
