Senior Autonomy Systems Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Autonomy Software teams to develop requirements for safe perception, localization, prediction, motion planning, and control algorithms
• Identify edge cases to expose system weaknesses prior to on-road deployment
• Provide analysis to support complex autonomy system design trade-offs
• Support development of simulation scenarios, track testing, on-road testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing

Requirements

• Deep understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and system modeling
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C++, or C
• Experience in sensor fusion, object tracking, machine learning, or computer vision
• Strong foundation in probability and statistics
• Working knowledge of autonomy system architectures
• Experience with safety-critical standards (ISO 26262, DO-178, or IEC 61508)
• Experience with safety analysis methodologies like FTA, FMEA, or HARA
• Must be a US person due to the defense nature of the work

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Bayesian inference or Markov models
• Experience with simulation development and validation environments
• Familiarity with SOTIF, UL 4600, and safety case development
• Knowledge of real-time, safety-critical systems
