About the role

Responsibilities

  • Architect the Acuity Scene System by designing core high-performance architectures, including Entity Component System (ECS) frameworks and spatial indexing.
  • Define 4D abstractions and object management for large-scale multi-agent simulations across air, ground, and maritime domains.
  • Drive technical strategy and design seamless APIs to enable cross-domain integration for autonomy stacks.
  • Collaborate with and mentor other engineering teams, providing technical leadership and handling essential integration work.
  • Optimize systems for massive scalability using modern agentic coding tools and AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience with expertise in complex systems.
  • Expert-level C++ skills (C++20 or later), including template metaprogramming and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience with Entity Component System (ECS) architectures or data-oriented design patterns.
  • Strong background in 3D/4D spatial systems, coordinate transformations, and geometric algorithms.
  • Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for automation and tooling.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux, Docker, and build systems like Nix or Bazel.
  • Background in game development, physics engines, or virtual environment simulation.
  • Experience with temporal reasoning systems and 4D scene representation.
  • Knowledge of robotics software architectures or autonomous systems.
