Senior Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and integration of automated systems from concept to production
• Develop and optimize high-speed, high-accuracy pick-and-place systems using machine vision and robotic arms
• Build and iterate physical prototypes using rapid prototyping methods like 3D printing and CNC machining
• Perform hands-on assembly, testing, and debugging of components, sensors, and actuators
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including breeders, data scientists, and biologists to solve complex automation challenges
• Manage project timelines and deliverables using Agile methodologies
• Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and documentation to support findings and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics
• 7+ years of experience in robotics and automation engineering
• 4+ years of experience in hands-on prototyping and automation system integration
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or CATIA
• Experience with machine vision systems (e.g., OpenCV, Cognex, HALCON)
• Expertise in programming languages including Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, ROS, or C/C++
• Skilled in PLC programming using Ladder Logic or Structured Text
• Experience with Git-based version control systems
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
