Senior Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated test frameworks and data-pipeline scripts to replace manual Digital Merchandising workflows.
• Develop and maintain API automation suites in Node.js/TypeScript using Playwright to validate menu sync and promotional data contracts.
• Build and operate UI automation for Web, Mobile App, and Kiosk surfaces using Playwright.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude to accelerate test generation and refactoring.
• Collaborate with product and QE stakeholders to translate business validation rules into executable test specifications.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering or SDET experience with a strong automation focus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Playwright for both UI end-to-end and API automation using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience building API test frameworks that validate REST contracts, payload schemas, and data integrity.
• Experience with AWS serverless and event-driven architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB).
• Hands-on experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience integrating with 3PD delivery APIs such as DoorDash Drive or Uber Eats.
• Experience with visual regression testing tools like Applitools or Percy.
• Familiarity with contract testing frameworks such as Pact.
• Experience in QSR, retail, e-commerce, or digital ordering domains.
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate or higher.
