About the role

Responsibilities

  • Focus on continuous improvement of operating assets through PLC automation improvement and new technology opportunities
  • Develop and execute brownfield improvement projects from concept through sustainment
  • Oversee the installation and setup of IC&E equipment and systems to ensure safety and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in area Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, Hazard Hunts, and incident investigations
  • Collect and analyze data from instrumentation and control systems to optimize processes
  • Recommend and implement upgrades to instrumentation, electrical, and control systems
  • Provide engineering support for brownfield upgrades and greenfield projects, including review of technical deliverables
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives and provide shutdown engineering support

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Significant experience in automation, instrumentation, controls, and electrical disciplines
  • Demonstrated work experience in Upstream Oil & Gas production support
  • Strong knowledge of discipline design standards and safety codes (ISA, NEC, IEEE Standards, etc.)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and rectify issues with instrumentation, medium/low voltage electrical equipment, and control systems
  • Experience providing process improvements through automation hardware such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and DCS
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in operational or technical organizations focused on automation or reliability
  • Advanced PLC debugging and programming skills
  • Experience with networking and field communications (DNP3, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, MQTT, etc.)
  • Familiarity with analytics and visualization software such as Ignition, SEEQ, or Power BI
