Senior Attorney

Responsibilities

• Litigate agency and state court actions from the pleading stage through trial
• Try foreclosure cases for real estate taxes and municipal claims
• Handle real property market value and exemption appeal cases
• Represent the City in quiet title and conservatorship matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Research and analyze complex legal issues regarding tax legislation
• Attend Motions Court, pre-trial conferences, and Tax Review Board hearings

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of relevant legal experience
• Law degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar or eligible for reciprocity
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Philadelphia
• Must become a Philadelphia resident within six months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in tax litigation or real estate law
• Strong trial and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage complex fact patterns and high-pressure situations
