About the role
Responsibilities
- Support or lead in vivo studies in rodent models of obesity, insulin resistance, and muscle dysfunction, including compound dosing, tissue collection, and metabolic phenotyping
- Conduct follow-up analysis of metabolic tissues using qPCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and RNAScope
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot in vitro experiments in primary and immortalized cell models of adipocytes and myotubes
- Analyze and interpret data using appropriate statistical methods and communicate findings in written reports and presentations
- Maintain meticulous electronic lab notebooks, SOPs, and assay documentation to ensure data integrity
Requirements
- BS or MS in Cell Biology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3+ years of laboratory experience, preferably working with mouse models
- In vivo experience with rodent models of obesity
- Experience designing and executing metabolic studies, including indirect calorimetry, GTT, and ITT
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Prism, R, or Python
- Strong understanding of experimental design and statistics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tissue culture, western blotting, ELISA, and flow cytometry
- Histologic experience with metabolic tissues including liver, skeletal muscle, pancreas, and brain
