Senior Associate, Property Accounting

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and periodic cash reconciliations on all bank accounts, including operating, tenant security deposit, and escrow accounts
• Support the monthly close process by preparing monthly financial statements, schedules, and balance sheets
• Review monthly receipts for residential and commercial tenants and communicate discrepancies to Property Controllers
• Audit on-site tenant billing processes to ensure accurate accounting for monthly charges
• Collaborate with leasing teams to facilitate collections and monitor collection agency progress
• Assist the accounts payable department with vendor invoice classification and periodic inspections
• Review payroll reports for accuracy, including leasing commissions and cost allocations
• Assist in compiling documentation for year-end federal and state tax reporting and financial statement reviews
• Manage general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets
• Identify and resolve financial reporting discrepancies and undertake special projects as requested

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• 4-6+ years of experience in property management accounting
• Extensive experience and familiarity with Yardi
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
