Senior Associate, Network Control

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for a large nationwide network, including monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting network problems within the Network Operations Control Center (NOCC).
• Monitor network alarm conditions to proactively identify and minimize disruptions to the FAA network and perform root cause analysis.
• Employ test methods to analyze channelized/unchanneled T1, T3, Ethernet, IP, Frame Relay, ATM, WAN, LAN, SONET, and TDM.
• Assist Local Exchange Carriers (LEC), ILECs, and IXCs to resolve WAN problems and support onsite field technicians remotely.
• Work in an onsite 24x7x365 NOCC environment, including rotating shifts and periodic support for emergency evacuations to backup facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of related experience, OR a Graduate Degree and 0-2 years of experience, OR 6 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain an FAA Public Trust or U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Melbourne, FL (remote work is not available due to secure network requirements).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Layer 1, 2, and 3 troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with networking technologies such as SONET, TDM, RF, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, HSRP, ATM, and Frame Relay.
• Experience with Network Management tools such as Cisco Prime SNMPc, Orion, and Netflow.
• Experience with UNIX, Remote Access solutions, and call center phone systems.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
