About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of "greenfield" facility layouts with optimized product flow
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, throughput, and quality
  • Evaluate production flow, facility layout, labor utilization, and material movement
  • Support capacity planning, line balancing, and production scheduling
  • Monitor and report key manufacturing performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Conduct time studies, productivity assessments, and workflow analysis
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve operational performance
  • Support the introduction of new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
  • Or, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, propulsion, or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with rocket motor manufacturing or complex production systems
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python
  • Knowledge of facility optimization, discrete event simulation, or advanced industrial engineering methods
