About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the development of "greenfield" facility layouts with optimized product flow
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, throughput, and quality
- Evaluate production flow, facility layout, labor utilization, and material movement
- Support capacity planning, line balancing, and production scheduling
- Monitor and report key manufacturing performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Conduct time studies, productivity assessments, and workflow analysis
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve operational performance
- Support the introduction of new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
- Or, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, propulsion, or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with rocket motor manufacturing or complex production systems
- Six Sigma and/or Lean certification
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python
- Knowledge of facility optimization, discrete event simulation, or advanced industrial engineering methods
