Senior Associate, Energy Systems Analyst

Responsibilities

• Research clean and resilient energy topics to develop targeted recommendations for clients
• Identify energy requirements for interdependent infrastructure and develop resilience solutions
• Conduct data review and visualizations, including GIS mapping and spatial analysis of infrastructure assets
• Review the technical merit of solutions developed by team members and stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create implementation roadmaps
• Discuss power systems concepts such as grid stability and distributed energy resources with non-technical clients
• Support project managers in assessing client needs and preparing proposals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, power systems, mechanical, civil, or environmental engineering, or a related STEM field
• 3–5+ years of professional experience in energy companies, utilities, research labs, or consulting
• Experience in developing and deploying energy projects
• Familiarity with electrical power system infrastructure, equipment, and industry standards
• Demonstrated ability to work with GIS software for infrastructure mapping or spatial data analysis
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to travel approximately 25%

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in ArcGIS or QGIS
• Knowledge of microgrids, energy storage, and renewable energy systems
• Operational experience with electric utilities, ISOs, or IPPs
• Experience with technology cost and performance analysis
• Experience with interdependency, vulnerability, or fault tree analysis
