About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership for the Urgent Concerns clinic, focusing on early intervention for students in crisis.
  • Serve as a core member of the Crisis Management Team, providing guidance to campus personnel regarding at-risk students.
  • Oversee drop-in clinics and ensure appropriate staffing levels and coordinated aftercare for students.
  • Deliver direct clinical services, including psychological evaluations, short-term psychotherapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Provide clinical supervision to postdoctoral trainees and early career psychologists and social workers.
  • Lead risk management efforts, including conducting threat assessments and participating in Behavioral Intervention committees.
  • Coordinate and implement clinical responses to campus-wide emergencies and postvention activities.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • New York State license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant clinical experience, including managing clinical emergencies.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience directly supervising clinical work.
  • Expertise in risk assessment for suicide or violence and safety planning.
  • Substantial experience working with patients in crisis or with severe psychopathology.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a college mental health setting.
  • Experience in a Consultation & Liaison team or an organizational consulting setting.
