Senior Associate Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build, orchestrate, and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines to extract and transform data from diverse sources like APIs, databases, and streaming platforms.
• Design and maintain robust data architecture, including data lakes, warehouses, and distributed file systems.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and compute clusters to support high-performance data engineering workflows.
• Implement security controls and data governance measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements like GDPR and HIPAA.
• Write production-ready, testable code and participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience in a data engineering role, specifically building scalable systems with Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake).
• Strong expertise in SQL and Python for data engineering and analytics.
• Deep understanding of data modeling (dimensional, relational, and modern lakehouse).
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipeline design, orchestration, and data governance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Power BI.
• Experience with domain-driven design concepts and data product principles.
• Ability to gather and document business requirements (BRDs, user stories).
