Senior Associate AD, Integrated Health, Wellness and Sports Performance

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level administrative oversight for all health, safety, and wellness units within Syracuse University Athletics.
• Supervise support service directors in athletic training, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, and mental health/sport psychology.
• Ensure all programs and personnel operate in compliance with NCAA, ACC, and institutional health and safety standards.
• Maintain the autonomy of independent medical care by preserving the clinical authority of the Head Team Physician.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing structures, and facility coordination for high-volume Division I support services.
• Manage departmental budgets, including medical and performance expenditures, equipment procurement, and resource allocation.
• Lead staff development through hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in sports medicine, athletic training, health administration, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in NCAA Division I athletics or a professional sports environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary health, safety, or performance departments.
• Strong knowledge of NCAA health and safety regulations and Independent Medical Care guidelines.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a Power 4 (ACC/Big Ten) athletics program.
• Professional background in athletic training, sports medicine, or health administration leadership.
