Senior Assistant Dean for Student Life

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision, leadership, and operational oversight for the Office of Student Life
• Manage a team of approximately six staff members, including an Assistant Dean
• Lead policy development, ongoing assessment, and response to crisis and critical incidents
• Plan and execute annual orientation, pre-orientation, and service day programs
• Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and student organizations to support student health, wellness, and learning
• Advise students on misconduct, discipline, grievance proceedings, and character and fitness evaluations
• Coordinate academic support services and advise students on disability accommodations
• Ensure compliance with ABA Standards, University rules, FERPA, and other applicable laws

Requirements

• Juris doctor, masters in higher education, or an equivalent degree
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or the legal industry
• Experience with direct supervision of multiple staff members
• Strong knowledge of student affairs best practices, including disability services, wellness, and misconduct procedures
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives and work with multicultural student populations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and alumni
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities under pressure
