Senior Architect - Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on technical lead for multi-functional product teams creating purpose-built software products.
• Lead initial engagement discovery and remain accountable for the design and delivery of modern Platform Engineering solutions.
• Drive automation and DevOps strategy, architecture, and implementation within the AWS ecosystem.
• Provide domain expertise in DevOps culture, tooling, delivery methods, and practices.
• Lead work effort estimation and story pointing to align user and business goals in Agile projects.
• Develop technical guidance, training materials, and project case studies for Slalom teams.
• Contribute to the technical community through blog articles, workshops, and conference presentations.

Requirements

• Baseline or NV1 security clearance (required for specific project requirements).
• Extensive experience as an architect across software engineering and DevOps in production environments.
• Deep expertise with AWS cloud services.
• Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
• Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM and firewalls.
• Ability to lead business-level conversations and translate client needs into technical solutions.
