Senior Applied Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of AI-native science platforms that automate the end-to-end lifecycle from hypothesis formulation through causal analysis and model deployment.
• Build shared knowledge infrastructure, including feature stores, experiment registries, and model leaderboards, to enable organizational learning.
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks and Seller simulations to validate model quality against synthetic populations before live deployment.
• Drive integration with downstream systems to ensure scientific outputs reach the people and systems that serve customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product managers, economists, and data scientists, to translate business problems into scalable scientific solutions.

Requirements

• PhD, or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, computer science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience with large-scale machine learning systems, including profiling, debugging, and optimizing system performance and scalability.
• Business level fluency in Japanese (N1+) in speaking, reading, and writing.
