Senior Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy internal AI systems and agent-based workflows
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of applied AI tools from prototyping to maintenance
• Develop agent platforms for information retrieval, document analysis, and workflow automation
• Research technical approaches including RAG, tool use, and prompt architecture
• Establish best practices for AI experimentation, evaluation, and observability
• Define the long-term technical vision for AI tools across the company

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Direct experience building and deploying applied AI or LLM-powered systems in production
• Experience with modern LLM patterns like tool use, prompt design, and agent workflows
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in system design, testing, and debugging
• Experience developing backend systems, APIs, or automation frameworks
• Ability to work in high-ambiguity environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building internal AI assistants or coding agents
• Experience designing retrieval systems (RAG) over large document sets
• Experience with fine-tuning or model experimentation
• Familiarity with TypeScript/Javascript and full-stack development
• Prior experience in a small team or startup environment
