Senior Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production AI systems end to end, from problem definition to deployment and iteration
• Develop AI agents and workflow automation systems that can reason over context and use tools
• Design evaluation frameworks, datasets, metrics, and feedback loops to measure AI system quality
• Apply LLMs, multimodal models, RAG, and structured extraction to healthcare workflows
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and Operations to integrate AI capabilities into products
• Improve reliability, observability, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop review mechanisms

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering, applied AI, or machine learning experience
• Strong experience building and shipping production software systems
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, agents, or workflow automation
• Strong programming skills across backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines
• Practical experience with prompt engineering, tool use, and retrieval
• Experience designing evaluation methodologies for AI systems
• Strong system design judgment regarding reliability and scalability
• High ownership and comfort in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building agentic systems or AI copilots in production
• Experience with multimodal AI, OCR, or document understanding
• Experience in healthcare, insurance, or regulated domains
• Experience with human-in-the-loop systems and quality assurance workflows
• Experience with knowledge graphs or entity resolution
• Prior startup or zero-to-one product development experience
