Senior Applied AI Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Apply existing internal and off-the-shelf external AI systems to extract clinically relevant information from unstructured medical notes
• Validate AI generated datasets used by clinicians and researchers to evolve cancer research
• Work with clinical stakeholders to turn raw clinical data into high quality research data
• Collaborate with research scientists and oncologists to validate model performance and scientific insights
• Define requirements for training and evaluation datasets and maintain software pipelines
• Work cross-functionally with software engineers to productionize, scale, and monitor models
• Provide analytical support and custom data outputs for cross-functional teams

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience as an applied data scientist or similar technical role
• Experience working with ML or LLMs
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, polars, or similar) and SQL
• Experience with formal version control in a production development environment
• Ability to communicate complex data analyses clearly to stakeholders
• Proficiency in English and ability to read Japanese
• Experience mentoring others on data science methods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with data in a healthcare setting
• Experience working in dbt or other ETL frameworks
