Senior Applications Engineer II – Physical Layer

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate new concepts for Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) products through simulation, prototyping, and validation
• Collaborate with design teams to transform concepts into robust, scalable solutions
• Support validation and compliance processes to ensure products meet industry and customer requirements
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including application notes
• Provide technical support to customers and ensure alignment with design recommendations
• Drive product quality by applying expertise in signal integrity and EMC during design and validation phases
• Perform analysis, testing, and debugging using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and VNAs
• Communicate complex technical topics cross-functionally to various stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with Ethernet / SPE technologies (100BASE-T1 / 1000BASE-T1)
• Experience with Ethernet compliance and certification processes
• Strong background in analog and digital circuit design
• Experience in system- and circuit-level simulation and analysis
• Hands-on experience with modern measurement equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum/signal/logic analyzer, VNA)
• Expertise in signal integrity and EMC testing and debugging
• Programming or scripting skills in Python, C, C++, C#, Java, or uPython
• Fluent English (business level)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive or semiconductor industries
• Familiarity with AI-supported workflows
• RF design, debugging, or PCB design (Altium) experience
• Firmware development and soldering skills
• German language skills
