Senior Application Support Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, stability, and performance of mission-critical Institutional Trade Processing platforms.
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA) activities to drive preventative solutions.
• Support application recovery, failover, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity activities.
• Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual risk.
• Enhance monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational tooling across a modern ecosystem.
• Partner with globally distributed teams including Development, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security to ensure platform reliability.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience supporting enterprise applications in complex production environments.
• Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including observability and automation.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS) and modern infrastructure platforms.
• Experience with messaging systems and middleware (e.g., Kafka, IBM MQ).
• Exposure to container platforms such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work the second shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation.
• Experience with mainframe technologies (JCL, batch processing).
• Background in Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Securities Processing.
