Senior API Integration Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document RESTful and SOAP-based APIs using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower
• Implement industry-standard security protocols including OAuth2, mTLS, and JWT
• Create and customize API policies using XSLT and GatewayScript within DataPower
• Manage API deployments across multiple environments and integrate into CI/CD pipelines
• Perform root cause analysis on integration failures using DataPower probes and API Connect analytics
• Collaborate with backend developers, security architects, and product owners to define API contracts
• Support and manage containerized API Connect deployments using OpenShift and Kubernetes
• Monitor API performance, reliability, and security across enterprise environments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in API development, integration, and management
• Hands-on experience with IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON, XSD, and WSDL
• Experience implementing security standards such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and SSL/TLS
• Proficiency in DataPower development including XSLT and GatewayScript
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with container platforms like OpenShift and Kubernetes
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in banking, financial services, or telecommunications
• IBM Professional Certifications in IBM API Connect or IBM DataPower
