Senior API and Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of DISP Orchestration APIs using the Backend-for-Frontend pattern to support web and mobile experiences.
• Build and evolve RESTful APIs and integration services using .NET Core, Azure Functions, and cloud-native Azure services.
• Design secure, token-based API interactions using JWT, OAuth/OIDC, managed identity, and Key Vault.
• Implement resilience patterns including retries, idempotency, asynchronous workflows, and caching strategies using Redis.
• Act as a technical lead to establish scalable engineering practices, guiding API versioning, contract stability, and schema evolution.
• Partner with Architecture, Product, Security, and Infrastructure teams to support the growth of the Digital Insight Services Platform.
• Ensure high-quality code through automated testing, CI/CD practices, and rigorous code reviews.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 6+ years of focused experience in APIs, integration engineering, or backend platform engineering.
• 3+ years of experience designing and delivering integrations in cloud-native Azure environments.
• Strong expertise in building secure RESTful APIs using .NET and ASP.NET Core.
• Hands-on experience with API gateways and Azure API Management.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery across complex, multi-year initiatives.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated or high-trust environments such as financial services or healthcare.
• Experience integrating with legacy enterprise platforms or pension administration systems.
• Knowledge of microservices patterns such as anti-corruption layers or orchestration layers.
