About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality animations capturing natural or exaggerated movements based on project needs
- Create compelling performances for creatures, characters, and objects
- Ensure animations are technically sound and respect pipeline guidelines
- Collaborate with technical and rigging teams to improve workflows
- Communicate progress and potential bottlenecks to production teams
- Mentor junior animators and share technical knowledge
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a VFX or animation studio
- Proven mastery of Maya
- Strong understanding of body mechanics and facial animation
- Ability to animate from references and create convincing acting performances
- Based in the province of Quebec
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ShotGrid or other production tracking tools
- Knowledge of rigging fundamentals or custom tool development
