Senior Android Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance, and support of ABC's Android and Android TV applications.
• Build and maintain shared components, libraries, tooling, and infrastructure within the Framework team.
• Design and develop complex, reusable components and functionality for various ABC digital properties.
• Provide technical leadership and documentation to ensure other teams can adopt and extend shared APIs and architectural decisions.
• Foster industry best practices and contribute to the development of engineering standards across mobile development teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience developing scalable, complex, and high-performing applications and libraries using Kotlin.
• Strong focus on writing clean, testable, and well-tested code.
• Deep knowledge of modern Android technologies, specifically Jetpack Components.
• Proven experience in technical leadership and representing engineering teams in business discussions.
• Proficiency with modern build tools, CI/CD (GitLab CI, Fastlane), and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with dependency injection (Dagger 2), networking (Retrofit 2, OKHttp), and asynchronous programming (Kotlin Coroutines, RXJava).
