Senior Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect Pilot's data foundation, including warehouse layout, semantic layer, and access patterns
• Ship durable, well-documented, and well-tested models in dbt
• Lead ingestion of new data sources using Fivetran, Airflow, or partner shares
• Operate the data foundation as a reliable production system
• Build AI tools and workflows to uplevel the data team's productivity
• Enable other teams to safely use AI on Pilot data through governed access surfaces
• Set technical standards for testing, documentation, naming, and code review
• Own canonical metrics across Finance, Sales, Operations, and Marketing

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer
• End-to-end ownership of a production warehouse and modeling layer
• Proven track record of architecting data platforms
• Strong SQL and production dbt experience at scale
• Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouses
• Experience with a semantic layer (e.g., LookML, dbt Semantic Layer, Cube)
• Proficiency in Python for ingestion code and Airflow DAGs
• Experience with managed ingestion (Fivetran) and reverse-ETL (Census)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience setting up safe, audited AI access to a data warehouse
• Experience designing self-serve data platforms for non-data teams
• Airflow production experience
• dbt Cloud experience
• Looker administration experience
• Data observability experience (e.g., Monte Carlo, Elementary)
• Background in Fintech, accounting software, or B2B SaaS
