Senior Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the data foundation to support business growth, focusing on structuring, modeling, and testing data.
• Take ownership of the BigQuery data warehouse and develop end-to-end dbt models, metrics, and semantic layers.
• Build and manage data pipelines using CDC (Datastream), file ingestion, and streaming replication to Materialize.
• Ensure pipeline reliability through robust orchestration, alerting, and observability frameworks.
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data products and self-service analytics.
• Execute cost and performance optimizations, including advanced incremental loading and partitioning strategies.
• Provide hands-on analytics support by building dashboards in tools like Sigma to deliver actionable insights.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering.
• Deep fluency in SQL and extensive experience with BigQuery.
• Strong expertise in dbt, including leveraging Jinja, YAML, and semantic modeling.
• Experience with real-time streaming (e.g., Materialize) and event streams (e.g., Kafka or Pub/Sub).
• Proficiency with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Cloud Composer.
• Hands-on experience with data ingestion technologies like CDC (Datastream), Fivetran, or Airbyte.
• Experience using BI tools such as Sigma, Tableau, or Omni to drive business observability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Terraform, Java, or Python.
• Experience with highly performant analytical databases like Clickhouse or AlloyDB.
• Experience with reverse ETL solutions (e.g., Census) to sync data to downstream SaaS tools.
• Experience implementing advanced monitoring and building resilient, automated systems.
