About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal technical advisor to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) regarding metal fabrication and corrosion prevention.
- Direct and prioritize the day-to-day activities of on-site contractor maintenance personnel to ensure mission integration.
- Act as the final technical authority to chief engineers on the operational feasibility of proposed aircraft repairs.
- Analyze maintenance data and fleet-wide trends to provide predictive intelligence for resource allocation.
- Act as a primary liaison and advocate for the enlisted maintenance community (2A7X career fields).
- Vet and challenge technical data packages to ensure repair schemes are logistically supportable and technically sound.
Requirements
- Minimum of 20 years of enlisted USAF service.
- Terminal rank of Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt) or Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt).
- Documented experience as a Production or Maintenance Superintendent.
- Mastery in Aircraft Structures and Advanced Composites, including Metals Technology and Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI).
- Active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Minimum one-year tour as a Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) within AFLCMC/EN or /EZ.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multiple airframes (e.g., F-16, F-35, C-130, KC-135).
- Formal instructor experience at a technical training unit.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
- Previous experience collaborating with the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI).
