Senior AI Engineer - Recommendation and Personalisation

Responsibilities

• Design and build generative AI applications for complex financial and legal workflows
• Drive the end-to-end model development lifecycle and ensure reproducible research
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business problems and mentor teammates
• Translate complex problems into well-defined, scoped bets in a fast-paced environment
• Learn and apply cutting-edge research in recommendation, ranking, and personalisation
• Lead the adoption of AI across feeds, alerts, search, and AI experiences at 9fin

Requirements

• Deep experience building recommendation systems across feeds, alerts, search, and workflows
• Expertise in Learning to Rank, including pointwise, pairwise, and listwise approaches
• Experience modelling user intent, preferences, and engagement patterns
• Strong understanding of behavioural instrumentation and product analytics telemetry
• Experience designing and analysing A/B tests and evaluating ranking systems
• Background in feature engineering, tabular ML, and production model deployment
• Experience combining embeddings, semantic similarity, and collaborative signals
• Ability to incorporate graph relationships into ranking and recommendation decisions
• Experience building feature pipelines, inference systems, and low-latency ranking services
• Strong proficiency in Python and knowledge of AWS AI infrastructure
