Senior AI DBA

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/LLM-based database operation automation pipelines
• Design DB infrastructure architecture and scale-up strategies for high-traffic environments
• Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analysis for DB automation adoption
• Establish DB operation standardization policies through query tuning and performance analysis
• Provide expert consultation on schema design and query optimization to development teams
• Manage backup/recovery, monitoring, alerting, and HA/DR systems

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DBA, DBRE, or Backend Engineering roles
• Deep experience operating and tuning PostgreSQL or MySQL in production
• Experience with cloud-managed databases such as AWS RDS or Aurora
• Expertise in query tuning, index design, and execution plan analysis for large-scale data
• Experience designing HA/Failover, backup/recovery, and zero-downtime schema changes
• Experience with DB incident response (on-call) and post-mortem improvements
• Proficiency in developing automation tools using Python, Go, or Shell

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with both PostgreSQL and MySQL engines
• Experience with Aurora, RDS Proxy, DMS, pgBouncer, or ProxySQL
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK)
• Experience with NoSQL (Redis, DynamoDB, MongoDB) or analytical databases (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Experience using AI coding agents or LLM/MCP/Plugin workflows for DB operations
• Experience applying SRE principles (SLI/SLO/Error Budget) to database operations
