Senior AI Community Engineer

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end DevRel events including builders nights, hack nights, and developer conferences
• Establish and maintain a regular cadence of in-person programming in the San Francisco Bay Area
• Design hands-on workshop formats to drive developer API activation
• Manage the health and growth of developer communities on Discord, GitHub, and Reddit
• Build and cultivate a formal developer Champions program
• Track event-to-activation conversion and report on developer outcomes
• Document repeatable event playbooks and community engagement patterns
• Coordinate with Field Marketing and Partnerships for co-hosted events and trade shows

Requirements

• 3–5 years in Developer Relations, Community Management, or Technical Event Production
• Proven track record of producing technical meetups, workshops, and hack nights
• Experience growing and sustaining developer communities
• Technical proficiency in JavaScript or Python and familiarity with API-first development
• AI-first mindset with experience using AI tools in daily workflows
• Based in San Francisco with ability to travel approximately 25%
• High level of autonomy and ability to drive outcomes independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience producing large-scale technical events for 50–200+ developers
• Portfolio of designed and facilitated hands-on technical workshops
• Experience with community platforms like Discord, Discourse, Orbit, or Common Room
• Familiarity with WebSockets, WebRTC, or real-time audio protocols
• Experience designing developer ambassador or MVP programs
