Senior AI Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI for HVAC and energy system innovation, including advanced control design, diagnostic algorithms, and service tool development
• Develop AI solutions for integrated energy systems in edge-based or cloud-based applications
• Act as a technical leader for generative AI and large language model (LLM) applications, providing guidance on related projects
• Lead project execution to ensure high-quality deliverables, defining milestones and conducting qualification testing in labs
• Develop AI application strategies and integrate algorithms into software tools through collaboration with functional teams
• Establish standard work for AI applications and provide training to enhance team capabilities
• Maintain constant communication with global engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams, as well as customers and management

Requirements

• MS or Ph.D. in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, HVAC/R, Applied Math, Statistics, or Engineering
• 5+ years of professional experience
• 3+ years of proven track record leveraging generative AI or LLMs in industrial applications
• Expertise in domain-specific large language model development
• Extensive experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch
• Proficiency in programming with Python, R, Matlab, Javascript, or C++
• Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting within AI computing environments
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the working principles of HVAC/R and energy systems
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and project management skills
• An entrepreneurial attitude towards innovation and a results-oriented mindset
