Senior AFC Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Review complex transaction monitoring alerts and conduct investigations into suspicious activities
• Make decisions regarding Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs/Verdachtsmeldungen) and ensure regulatory compliance
• Drive the conceptual development and optimization of the bank's monitoring infrastructure and detection logic
• Refine detection scenarios and tune threshold settings to minimize false positives
• Oversee operational monitoring activities and internal controls to ensure high-quality output
• Drive the AFC-side of system deployments and feature updates for new business activities
• Oversee AFC-related tool environments and service providers to ensure operational integrity
• Act as a subject matter expert during internal and external audits

Requirements

• University degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Extensive experience in Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) within the financial services industry
• In-depth knowledge of German GwG, KWG, and EU AML Directives
• Proven experience in designing, documenting, and optimizing AFC processes and frameworks
• Professional proficiency in English and excellent German skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant industry certifications, such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)
