About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop brake cooling geometries including ducts and internal flow paths
- Perform advanced CFD analysis to drive design directions
- Optimize thermal performance, cooling efficiency, and external aerodynamic impacts
- Balance cooling efficiency against aerodynamic sensitivity and regulatory constraints
- Drive CFD, wind tunnel, and track correlation of brake cooling performance
- Support race and test events with data analysis and cooling configuration decisions
- Act as an aero technical authority for brake cooling topics
- Collaborate with Design Office, Vehicle Dynamics, and Race Engineering
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to aero development best practices
Requirements
- Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering
- Significant experience in Formula 1 or high-level motorsport aerodynamics
- Strong expertise in brake cooling aerodynamics and thermal management
- Solid understanding of internal flows, heat transfer, and wheel wake interactions
- Experience with wind tunnel testing, CFD, and track correlation
- Strong technical judgement and ability to lead performance-critical development
