Senior Aero Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality designed mechanical parts for the wind tunnel model
• Analyse and optimise designs to improve the performance and reliability of engineering systems
• Liaise with the aero department stakeholders to complete mechanical design solutions
• Contribute new ideas in design methodology including process and procedures
• Investigate and research new technologies and materials for mechanical systems
• Contribute to standard design practices

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Design, Motorsport, or similar discipline
• Experience of mechanical design using 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA)
• Strong knowledge of complex mechanical engineering
• Ability to apply structural engineering techniques for part validation (FEA)
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques including composite and advanced digital manufacture
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T and its application
