Senior Advisor, Academic Advising Initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of strategic projects and programming to strengthen academic advising across the Faculty of Arts & Science.
• Develop recommendations for policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the student experience.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across colleges, academic units, and central student services.
• Advise on change management strategies and research existing business processes, programs, and services.
• Plan and oversee the implementation of new or revised business processes and advising frameworks.
• Lead Faculty-wide professional development initiatives, including the A&S Advising Conference and the A&S Advisor Network.
• Develop program materials and deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and training sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of experience.
• 6-7 years of recent experience in higher education, specifically in developing and implementing policies and business practices.
• Proven expertise in academic advising models, theories, and approaches.
• Extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives within a university setting.
• Experience with the U of T Student Advising Service.
• Demonstrated ability to lead policy reviews and drive change in a decentralized environment.
• Strong communication skills, including experience facilitating workshops and delivering presentations both in person and remotely.
