About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic projects and programming to strengthen academic advising across the Faculty of Arts & Science.
- Develop recommendations for policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the student experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across colleges, academic units, and central student services.
- Advise on change management strategies and research existing business processes, programs, and services.
- Plan and oversee the implementation of new or revised business processes and advising frameworks.
- Lead Faculty-wide professional development initiatives, including the A&S Advising Conference and the A&S Advisor Network.
- Develop program materials and deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and training sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of experience.
- 6-7 years of recent experience in higher education, specifically in developing and implementing policies and business practices.
- Proven expertise in academic advising models, theories, and approaches.
- Extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives within a university setting.
- Experience with the U of T Student Advising Service.
- Demonstrated ability to lead policy reviews and drive change in a decentralized environment.
- Strong communication skills, including experience facilitating workshops and delivering presentations both in person and remotely.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion when working with diverse student communities.
