Senior Adviser, Research Contracts

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate a wide range of research agreements, including funding, material/data transfer, confidentiality, and multi-institution collaboration arrangements.
• Provide practical, risk-based advice on contracts and intellectual property to researchers and university stakeholders.
• Partner closely with the University’s Legal team to resolve complex contractual issues and support effective research partnerships.
• Manage competing priorities to deliver accurate, high-quality work within established deadlines.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, ideally within a research, government, or commercial environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, gaps, and manage contractual risks in a practical manner.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence diverse groups.
• Strong judgement and the ability to work collaboratively to resolve complex problems.
