About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in materials and process engineering with an emphasis on machining operations for aerospace gas turbine engines.
  • Support the design, manufacture, and machining of parts for propulsion and auxiliary power products.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Interact with internal and external machining suppliers to assess capabilities and conduct process audits.
  • Act as a technical point of contact and mentor for less experienced engineers.
  • Participate in all phases of product development and supplier development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Materials Science, Metallurgy, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in materials/process engineering with a focus on machining operations.
  • 4+ years of experience working with aerospace alloys including aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel.
  • Hands-on experience with machining processes such as grinding, milling, shot-peening, EDM, or non-conventional machining.
  • Familiarity with Nadcap standards and industrial materials/processing specifications.
  • Proficiency in using Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement tools.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and requirements.

  • Advanced degree in engineering or a related technical field.
