About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital equipment and tooling projects from concept through specification, supplier selection, installation, and launch
  • Develop and improve assembly and metal fabrication processes to support safety, quality, and throughput goals
  • Partner with product engineering to incorporate Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles
  • Design manufacturing equipment and workstations considering ergonomics, material flow, and line balancing
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring manufacturing readiness and process capability
  • Collaborate with automation and robotics engineers to develop cost-effective automation solutions
  • Drive equipment reliability and process robustness to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and develop standard manufacturing methodologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or equipment engineering
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with capital equipment procurement, installation, and qualification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and tooling in a plant environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing (appliance, automotive, or consumer durable goods)
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or semi-automated manufacturing systems
  • Familiarity with GD&T, DFMA, TPM, OEE, and control plans
  • Prior experience with Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD tools
