About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainable automation solutions to optimize cost, capital investment, and system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external system integrators to conceptualize and design automation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-training to advanced manufacturing engineering teams and plant personnel.
- Utilize computer modeling and simulation tools to evaluate and improve automation system performance.
- Lead design reviews to evaluate proposed system designs for functionality, performance, and manufacturability.
- Ensure all production equipment concepts comply with applicable safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to automation system implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or 10+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, NX, or equivalent design platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex technical challenges.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
- Ability to travel up to 25%, primarily within the US and Mexico.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-speed automated manufacturing and vision-guided systems.
- Hands-on experience with controls engineering, including PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo drive programming.
- Experience working with industrial robotics (6-axis, SCARA, and delta-style systems).
- Knowledge of industrial communication and networking systems, including Ethernet/IP protocols.
- Familiarity with vibratory flex-feeder and bowl-feeder systems.
