About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable automation solutions to optimize cost, capital investment, and system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external system integrators to conceptualize and design automation strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-training to advanced manufacturing engineering teams and plant personnel.
  • Utilize computer modeling and simulation tools to evaluate and improve automation system performance.
  • Lead design reviews to evaluate proposed system designs for functionality, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure all production equipment concepts comply with applicable safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to automation system implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or 10+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, NX, or equivalent design platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex technical challenges.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, primarily within the US and Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-speed automated manufacturing and vision-guided systems.
  • Hands-on experience with controls engineering, including PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo drive programming.
  • Experience working with industrial robotics (6-axis, SCARA, and delta-style systems).
  • Knowledge of industrial communication and networking systems, including Ethernet/IP protocols.
  • Familiarity with vibratory flex-feeder and bowl-feeder systems.
