Senior Advanced Embedded Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide certification engineering coverage for software development across various Aerospace Product Groups.
• Review and approve software-related certification documents and processes in accordance with aerospace regulations.
• Perform PDQA/TSOS audits and support software/hardware reviews for compliance with regulations and contractual obligations.
• Provide process and certification guidance to product groups to ensure regulatory compliance in software and hardware areas.
• Represent the organization in certification discussions with customers and regulatory authorities such as the FAA.
• Plan and coordinate PDQA/Certification activities across multiple sites.
• Audit teams to ensure compliance with Honeywell QMS and AS9100/CMMI standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, or Computer Science Engineering.
• 6+ years of professional experience in software or aerospace engineering.
• Strong understanding of RTCA/DO-178 processes, including Software Requirements, Design, Coding, and V&V.
• Knowledge of industry standards including ARP 4754, ARP 4761, DO-160, DO-178B/C, and DO-254.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, Ada95, or Python.
• Demonstrated knowledge of FAA or other certification authority guidance.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong familiarity with aircraft operations, avionics systems, and product hardware.
• Working knowledge of aerospace quality practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA, CMMI, AS9100).
• Prior experience in certification liaison roles and working directly with Certification Authorities.
• Proven ability to lead, influence peers, and drive root cause analysis in complex technical environments.
