Senior Advanced Cybersecurity Architect/Engineer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to internally developed cybersecurity tooling, including the Product Cyber Security Risk Register, ensuring performance and scalability
• Support the development and maintenance of custom Jira integrations to enable seamless data flow across risk and compliance platforms
• Architect and implement scalable software solutions using Python and Java/Groovy
• Champion secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices to embed cybersecurity into the code
• Collaborate with cybersecurity SMEs, systems engineers, and risk managers to design tools that reduce friction in governance processes
• Modernize legacy systems and automate compliance-related reporting
• Participate in rotational support to ensure high availability and quality customer support for internal tools

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 8 years of hands-on software development experience in complex, security-sensitive environments
• Extensive experience in Jira deployment, customized workflows, and API maintenance
• Proficiency in Python for backend, service-layer, and integration development
• Strong understanding of Agile software development practices
• Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership to a team of developers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building custom Jira integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, or plugins
• Familiarity with Groovy scripting and JQL (Jira Query Language)
• Experience with security tools such as Black Duck Hub, Coverity, or SD Elements
• Knowledge of Ansible, CI/CD tools, containerization, and cloud environments
• Familiarity with risk management frameworks like NIST or ISO 27001
• Understanding of security by design principles and architecture-level security concepts
