About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead advanced battery cell development projects to improve electrochemical performance, safety, and technology readiness.
- Partner with internal engineering teams to define equipment concepts, fixtures, and technology needs for next-generation cell development.
- Establish development-phase requirements and engineering guidelines for new prismatic battery cell designs.
- Contribute to strategies for new cell architectures, materials, and build concepts to improve manufacturability.
- Build strategic project plans that support advanced cell engineering objectives and new build approaches.
- Lead targeted development studies to understand the interaction between cell design, materials, and formation response.
- Work cross-functionally with design, build, and process teams to evaluate design changes and development risks.
- Communicate technical updates, key learnings, and critical risks to stakeholders and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or a related science field.
- 5+ years of battery cell experience or similar relevant engineering experience.
- Strong analytical skills for data analysis, project management, and problem-solving.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment.
- Persuasive communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree, PhD, or other advanced technical certifications.
- Prior technical knowledge of prismatic automotive battery cells.
- Experience with automotive manufacturing or battery cell manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to quality systems related to a manufacturing environment.
