About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced process parameters to enable complex geometries with enhanced material properties
  • Investigate sources of machine variability and develop methods to eliminate observed variability
  • Execute and oversee development builds on various Additive Manufacturing machines
  • Collaborate with internal and external groups to develop whitepapers, project concepts, and responsive proposals
  • Explore the capabilities of advanced tools and equipment to characterize machines and process space
  • Develop machine installation, machine operation, and part qualification processes and standards
  • Work with RTX Business Units to understand and address their needs
  • Lead projects to advance the industrialization of AM at RTX

Requirements

  • University Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing tools and processes
  • Hands-on experience with metal laser powder-bed-fusion AM equipment
  • Scripting experience in Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript, or similar
  • Basic understanding of low voltage sensors and control systems
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
