Senior Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Record to Report (RTR) sub-function for Japan and Asia Pacific, providing controllership services and team leadership.
• Ensure all accounting transactions, balances, and reports are prepared with high accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee regulatory submissions, including direct and indirect tax reporting, ensuring compliance with legal deadlines.
• Manage tax and customs audits by liaising with Group Tax and external advisors to minimize regional tax exposure.
• Drive process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives to align accounting and reporting with global best practices.
• Manage internal stakeholders across FP&A, Group Finance, and Business units to ensure successful service delivery and change management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English (written and spoken).
• Professional accounting qualification in Japan or an equivalent recognized certification.
• 10+ years of experience in Accounting and Shared Services within a multinational company.
• Proven experience managing RTR teams, including hiring, training, and talent retention.
• Strong technical expertise in applying IFRS within a retail environment.
• Extensive knowledge of Japan GAAP and local compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP and experience with finance consolidation tools (e.g., BPC).
