Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Analyze, review, and reconcile reports from loan fund servicers to the general ledger
• Prepare quarterly financial statements and audit schedules for financial statement audits
• Prepare monthly City of New Orleans Sales Tax returns for review and submission
• Review and record monthly receipts from Lockbox and Virtual Lockbox accounts
• Prepare journal entries for routine tasks, including reclassifications and adjustments
• Prepare monthly banking transfer forms for various operating and restricted fund accounts
• Manage prepaid expenses, including monthly reconciliations and annual audit schedules
• Prepare journal entries for annual expense accruals and reversals
• Review and reconcile auxiliary revenues, such as external event rentals and housing
• Prepare quarterly 941 Tax returns and supporting schedules
• Perform monthly reviews and reconciliations of various Balance Sheet accounts
• Assist with the preparation of schedules for external auditors as requested

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of ARGOS and Banner Ellucian database software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
